10 Best Watches of 2011-2012

Below we’ve compiled a list of what we believe are the best watches of 2011 and 2012. Our reviews are based off total sales, average customer reviews, and of course price.  These wrist watches have proved to be the best timepieces currently on the market:

Casio G-Shock MT-G Atomic

Casio, well-known their digital watches, have grown substantially in popularity in the past year or so.  This particular model, the G-Shock MT-G Atomic Solar watch is our first pick due to it’s overwhelming amount of sales and positive reviews.  And of course, the watch runs off of solar power and lasts up to 11 months on a full charge (without further light exposure.)

Due to it’s precision, durability, and sheer amount of utility, we highly recommend the Casio Men’s MG-T.  It is clearly one of the best watches for men currently available.

Tissot T-Sport

Tissot is another brand that has been receiving a lot of critical acclaim recently.  This model, the T-Sport, is particularly beautiful aesthetically.  Considering it’s good looks, the T17158642 T-Sport has been flying off the shelves.

It’s a great watch for any man looking for a classy, yet affordable luxury watch.  As for keeping time, the T-Sport has a Swiss quality quartz movement, so it is pretty much flawless.  It makes a perfect casual watch and is a definite winner when it comes to performance.

Citizen Eco-Drive Nighthawk

Some other strong competition this year has been the timepieces from Citizen.  By far, the most popular series from this watch manufacturer has been the Eco-Drive line.  This environmentally friendly watch company has really made a bold statement with the Citizen Men’s BJ7000-52E Eco-Drive Nighthawk.

With the looks of a classically old styled luxury watch, this stainless steel timepiece has tons of goodies that make it a tempting offer for best watch of the year.  Just some of the unique features this watches holds in store are: slide rule inner chapter ring, non-reflective mineral crystal, luminous markers, and a dual time display.

Add on top of that it doesn’t need a battery, has a wonderful layout, and the durability/precision, and you have a spectacular watch.  We highly recommend the Eco-Drive Nighthawk.

Omega Seamaster 300M

The ever so popular “James Bond” watch from Omega has earned a lot praise over the years.  With it’s stunning blue dial, elegant and classic layout, and look of sheer sophistication, the Omega Men’s Seamaster 300M Quartz is absolutely breathtaking.

It’s a sporty watch that personifies it’s Hollywood heritage brilliantly.  Omega has always been known for producing watches that consist of inventive movements, dazzling cases, and overall excellent production quality. The movements on Omega watches worth pointing out due to their supreme accuracy and longevity.  This watch is easily one of the best watches in the world and in the history of watchmaking.

Invicta Venom Chronograph

Next on our list, we have the lovely F0004 Reserve Collection Venom Chronograph from Invicta.  Invicta is well known for thinking outside of the box when it comes to their timepiece craftsmanship, and the Venom is the epitome of that core value.  This endearing addition to watch history is a hybrid of a sports watch and a luxury watch.

It mixes in the sheer class of an elegant analog watch while including a subtle black sports band to accent the timepiece.  The overall look is quite dashing.  Throw into the mix the futuristic looking dial and bezel, and you have a watch that isn’t afraid to blend genres.

It keeps time with the best of them, with it’s Swiss quartz movement, and has an absolutely astonishing water resistance of 3,280 feet (which is unheard of.) A must have for watch collectors and connoisseurs.

Skagen Titanium Watches

Skagen Titanium watches are an instant classic.  It’s a look anyone that enjoys watches will undoubtedly love, with it’s clean yet classy exterior.  This watch takes European watch making to a new level of sophistication.  The metallic mesh black frame of the watch is a nice change of pace from the normal silver/gold clones we’re all so used to.

Luckily, Skagen has always been a watch brand that revolves around aesthetic appeal, and has been meet with great success over the past decade.

Taking a page out of Invicta’s book, Skagen has gone with the Japanese quartz movement for this titanium delight. This particular choice of movement is a wise move not only because it’s extremely accurate, but it requires little to no maintenance and makes the 233LTMN Titanium a great value buy.  For the price, nothing else can compare to what you get with the Men’s 233LTMN.

Tissot PRC 200 Chronograph

Tissot makes the list again with the T17158652 PRC 200 Chronograph.  This watch was an absolute hit when released.  Not because it was anything totally unexpected, but because it does everything it sets out to do perfectly.  It’s a watch that was born and conceived effortlessly into a market that craved both a classic looking analog luxury watch, and a watch that doesn’t lack in subtle creativity.

The Tissot Men’s T17158652 is a sparkling reminder of what it means to produce extraordinary watches.  Easily one the best watches of 2011, the PRC 200 is made with the utmost attention to detail and only with quality materials.

Tissot as a brand is known for being customer friendly and their warranties are another reason we’re giving them a standing ovation for their efforts.  This watch is truly a contender that is just begging to be worn.

Casio Waveceptor

We’re back to Casio, but this time it’s their attempt at an analog watch that really peaks our interest.  But the Waveceptor isn’t your ordinary run-of-the-mill analog watch.  Oh no, this is a clever timepiece that incorporates elements of both digital and old-fashioned watches.

While being an overall analog display, this watch runs off of solar power and has a partially digital display.  Since this is so unique, we had to mention it in our list of top watches of 2011 and 2012.  Easily mistaken as a luxury watch, the WVA470DJ-1ACF Waveceptor is a fun watch that deserves attention from both sports enthusiasts and watch collectors.

Seiko Kinetic Watches

Automatic watches have really taken off this year. And especially so with Seiko’s latest addition to the watch world: the Kinetic series.  These are automatic watches done right, with one in particular, the Men’s SKA347 Kinetic Silver-Tone.

If you’re familiar with the Invicta Pro Diver, then this watch should ring some bells. It’s a classic look that is backed up by unparalleled watch technology.  As you know, automatic watches require no batteries (since they run off ‘kinetic’ energy,) and the SKA347 from Seiko perfects it with a Japanese-quartz movement.

Seiko’s Kinetic line of watches are practical affairs that are both solid and accurate.  They have all the special features that you’re so used to, like illuminated hands, supple leather band, and overall light form factor, but adds in superior watch making additions like it’s revolutionary quartz mechanism and dramatic black dial.  It’s easy to see why this watch is so popular.

Orient ‘Blue Mako’

Last, but certainly not least, we have an exquisite Orient timepiece to add to our list.  This watch is simply beautiful.  Beyond that fact, you have a watch that does everything more expensive watches do, proving itself with it’s Japanese-automatic movement, unique rotating bezel, and impressive 660 feet of water resistance.

Currently the most popular model from Orient, the Men’s CEM65002D ‘Blue Mako’ is a force to be reckoned with.  Not much else to say about this fantastic watch.  It pretty much speaks for itself.
