Now with it being heavily discounted, this watch is selling out like crazy. Hands down, the black-white two tone Bulova (the Men’s 98A108 Marine Star) is the most popular model. It goes without saying this extraterrestrial timepiece is rather hypnotizing.
Bulova Marine Star Watch Review
Looking beyond the physical sheen, the Marine Star sports some hefty statistics. Coming it at 16 ounces, it contains a 40 millimeter diameter case (12.00 thickness,) stainless steel band with a width of 27.5 millimeters, and allows for up to 330 feet of water resistance.
The clasp is a rarely seen deployment clasp with push, allowing for easy removal. As for the bezel, it too is stainless steel and is limited to stationary movement. The actual movement mechanism of this Bulova watch is the higher-end Japanese-automatic variety.
Bulova Automatic Watches – Marine Star Collection
In case you aren’t familiar with automatic timepieces, the general gist is that these watches run without batteries (as long as they keep in motion.) It works based off kinetic movement, which stores energy produced my normal arm movements. The Marine Star is the perfect example of how a Japanese Automatic is supposed to work.
For collectors, the Marine Star will certainly be a shining addition to their repertoire. The distinct beauty of the device tends to be treasured and revered, which certainly isn’t surprising. The watch just looks dazzling. The design and style is easy on the wrist and tends to turn heads.
Bulova Marine Star Watches – History
Bulova as a company has been exceeding expectations ever since it’s birth in 1875. The beloved Josheph Buolova opened his first store at that time and was met with wave after wave of success. This tsunami of glory propelled the brand to where it is today. After carefully crafting and bright and endearing brand image, Bulova is now a household name. They continue to think outside of the box to this very day, as you well see with the Marine Star watch collection.
With the recent price cuts on the Bulova Marine Star, we highly recommend this watch for both experienced collectors and complete novices. It’s a great starter watch for those looking to show off, while it’s elegant enough to not be considered a gaudy accessory for those with more refined tastes.
