Casio, well-known their digital watches, have grown substantially in popularity in the past year or so.  This particular model, the G-Shock MT-G Atomic Solar watch is our first pick due to it’s overwhelming amount of sales and positive reviews.  And of course, the watch runs off of solar power and lasts up to 11 months on a full charge (without further light exposure.)

Due to it’s precision, durability, and sheer amount of utility, we highly recommend the Casio Men’s MG-T.  It is clearly one of the best watches for men currently available.

While it’s a bit pricier then other Seiko designs, like Seiko Orange Monster, Seiko Kinetic watches not only hold their value well, but are astonishingly easy on the eyes.

The SNG043 Kinetic Arctura from Seiko is fashioned out of both a stainless steel wrist band and bezel.  The bezel is painfully stationary, but we think it adds to the aesthetic appeal.  The dial color is a dashing shade of blue that accents the slick silver of case.

This watch, like most of Seiko’s timepieces, is of the automatic variety.  What this means is the watch self-generates energy, in turn requiring no batteries.  This works only if you continue to wear it, as the arm movements are vital to keep it going.

Seiko “Orange Monster” Review

You get a heck of a lot of watch for the price.  It reminds us of the Bulova Precisionist (another ‘monster’ of a watch.)  The orange dial does the name justice, as it’s both bold and intimidating.  The best part is, this behemoth of a watch doesn’t lose it’s luxury ‘feel’ despite it’s sizable presence.

Looking at the watch as a whole, you’ll see that it has some decent specs in addition to it’s unique aesthetic appeal.  Allowing up to 660 feet of water resistance, the watch is begging to be worn by scuba divers and water sport enthusiasts. The window is constructed from a patented Hardlex material, both adding to the durability and readability of the watch.

Seiko SKX781 – “Orange Monster”

As a luxury watch, the “Orange Monster” is definitely a contender.  In all of it’s massive glory, it doesn’t lose the finesse that we’re all so used to seeing in luxury Swiss watches.  It’s definitely sleek and clean looking.  The silver tone stainless steel band and bezel give it a polished look.

Moving on to the bezel, you’ll soon discover that the bezel is unidirectional and the watch boasts a day and date calender.  The bezel, of the one way rotating elapsed timing variety, sports a screw down crown along with a screw down case back.  It meets seamlessly with the sturdy Hardlex crystal display.

If you’re new to automatic watches, and unfamiliar with luxury watches like the Invicta Pro diver and Bulova Precisionist, then don’t worry!  It’s simply a method of turning the energy produced by your arm movements into ‘battery’ power, that in turn drives the timepiece.  As long as you continue wear an automatic watch like the “Orange Monster” regularly, you should never be concerned with battery life.

Do We Recommend The Casio Pathfinder?

As a digital watch, the Casio Pathfinder is an above average timepiece.  It does what it’s supposed to do and has several special features that are quite unique.  We agree with Casio that this watch would best serve the sea fairing folk, as it perfectly compliments them perfectly. But for the price, anyone that needs a reliable digital watch can’t go wrong with the Casio PAS400B-5V Pathfinder.
